The Ever-Changing Marco Island

1991 The Little Bar in Goodland FL

As we all know Marco Island to have its great attributes for each of us, everyone of us has our "own idea" of why we are here.

I entered into this island world in 1980 as a singer, and moved here in 1989 as a pianist and vocalist.  To this day I have played everywhere that has been on Marco Island except possibly a couple places that have come and gone and maybe I missed.

Chuckles Pub and Grub Goodland FL

I believe that I know all of the sides of Marco Island that anyone could enjoy.
I have played at the Hilton for everything from private parties and New Years Eve to events and the piano bar.

Radisson Beach Resort, Marco Island FL
I have musically entertained at penthouses and condos; and houses and tiki huts, in parks and beaches.

In the season of 1991 I played at the Little Bar in Goodland 3 nights a week, (they don't have the same person more than one night a week now).

I played at the Snook 6 days a week in the season of 1990, and still play there on occasion.

From the Moose float in the Christmas parade to the St Patty's Day Parade Day Celebration at Veterans Park.

Chuckles Tiki Hut 2003 Goodland FL

The Radisson Hotel was particularly interesting to me for three nights a week in 1991.  That was when I still had "Palm Etta" dancing plant on my piano, and "Ned Miller" dancing beer can.

What a life...need I say more?

I have been fortunate enough to sing with some of the greats Even the ones that have come and gone here on Marco and loved every minute of it...I never wanted anything more than to be a singer....I got my wish.

I thoroughly enjoy playing at the artsy places like Jeanne Brennan's "In The Light" when she has art shows for the painters and jewelery makers.

And finally we have an Irish Pub on Marco "O'Donoghues" where I played every Thursday for a year.

St Patty Never Had This Much Fun

I had chance number three while I was playing at the Radisson Hotel here on Marco Island.

The gentleman who books the King Of Kings place to play music in Florida, Disney World...offered me a job and I did not take him up on the offer.

I know everything happens for a reason and once again I did not want the job. I can only say the God has His plan for me and it is not to be famous, which is (by the way) fine with me.

Capn Brien's Off The Hook Comedy Club 2014
Did I forget to mention playing at Captain Brien's Off The Hook Comedy Club here on Marco Island?

I do not like cities. I have lived in plenty of them, most as a matter of fact. I cannot seem to find enough dirt and foliage for me to feel at home in them.

I will have a garden soon and that is all I ask for.

I get to play my music for people that I can see in the audience and smile back at them when I make them smile.

This is what I truly enjoy.

Summer 2014

A New Piano for Tarpon Lodge
So....the season at the Tarpon Lodge is over for me this year as I am going north for the summer for the first time ever, and I am looking forward to next year when we can have loads more fun there.

One thing about the Tarpon Lodge is I have so many friends who come to see me there. It is always great to see them all.

I must apologize to some of you who could not get in to see the St Patty's Day Show at the Tarpon Lodge this year. We were packed and reservations do take precedence. We had a ball and we will again next year.

Some of my Traveling Friends
I am going North for the summer this year, which will be my new trend. I do hope to see you all at the Tarpon lodge next year when I return in the fall.

I am especially grateful to all my traveling friends who come to see me there every year.
Come Have Dinner When I am There

To my friends that could not get in at the St Patty Day Show, I am still at Red's Fresh Seafood in Cape Coral off of Coronado on Lafayette, I am not at the great big outside bar, although I have played out there. I am inside at the fantastic Piano Lounge inside by the dining room. Come and sit at my piano bar. The food is fantastic as always at Red's.

I have begun the scheduling for the summer but always invite more gigs to play either on my way up and down the road, to and from my favorite island, or when I get there.

Just A Small Creek To Walk Over
Now I cannot wait to see all the people I have not seen in a long while north of my island.

I am not really on the road again, I am just on Tour for awhile.

I have so much to do this summer. I am growing a garden so I can have organic food and good food to can when it is grown and I can make my tinctures, or extracts, of the herbs and dehydrate some of them as well.

Plenty of Green Where I Will Be
When I am done we will have food for the winter down here where it is so hard to find what I want in the stores.

This year I would love to grow some mushrooms. Wish me luck on that one.

I use many things differently than most other people because I am allergic to most medications. This is how I got started using herbs as my medicine. (You can check out my other blogs: shopmotherearth.wordpress.com ...and naturalhealthmagazinenewsletter.wordpress.com and a few more.)

Lots of Work To Get the Garden
There is also a book right here on my  blog that you can order, just click on the link on the side and you can check out Claire Goodall's new book . It has over 215 natural health remedies.

Once you learn these remedies, then you do not have to use the over the counter drugs they sell at the drugstore that are so expensive. Or even if you are like me, you are allergic to most of them.

I will miss everyone down here for the summer but I will be back in the fall and we can get back to partying like we know how. All in fun.  ;-))
